What are those new “Securitization charges”?!
We’ll be seeing 2 NEW charges in future providers’ contracts: * Securitization default charges * Securitization uplift charges
It’s after the February 2021 Winter Storm Uri. New Texas law authorizes all Texas electricity providers to bill customers securitization charges for the next 30 years.
It’s very minimal, yet it’s there. For example, in my new Amigo contract: • Securitization Default Charges: 0.00196 ¢/kWh • Securitization Uplift Charges: 0 ¢/kWh
So far, what I’ve found a simple explanation on this: www.hudsonenergy.net/securitization/
