Ah gotcha. Will probably go with one of those 3 that allow the two months. Thanks again!

I broke our long term contract this month @ 13.9 rate. Bit the bullet, paid the penalty, and moved on.
i figured with Summer coming, i'll make it up in by August.
Just signed up with AMIGO for 3 months. (7.8) in early March. However, They let you sign up 90 days in advance by phone.
AMIGO JUST CONSTELLATION and TARA are all owned by JUST.
They all let you sign up 90 Days ahead --- by phone.
i will now set up switch for early June to cover us through Early Sept. for the same rate. (7.8)
i do see the few rates you posted recently on March 10. Looks like a little cheaper. Not sure how much cheaper they will get, though.

PostalPest01,
This was last year's, 2022, record.
The rates were so high that I didn’t bother to record before 9/16/2022. On 9/16/2022, the best Energy Charge: 9 ¢/kWh. The Amigo you selected Energy Charge: 4 ¢/kWh.
You need to consider what to do on “Early Sept” when your 3-month plan ends. The rates will possibly still be very high at that time.

Thanks for the prices from last year. Hopefully we’ll return to a more normal pattern this year.
The 3 month rates have dropped today to 7.3 and 7.5 from 7.8 and 7.9
will be interesting to watch their prices as April gets here.
i’m thinking on my JUNE decision now. Haven't pulled THAT trigger, yet.
might they go lower?
Ranchero is 7.3 with a 60 day advance notice. the others are 90 days in advance-- by phone.
natural gas prices are down big time this year and oil prices dropping as well.
perhaps this contributes to this price point.
cheers!

Postalpest,
This was last year's, 2022, record.
It didn’t change much during this period of time. After 4/1/2022, the rates went much higher that I stopped recording. My suggestion would be pick one before April. Not getting much better to wait. Take a big risk of losing it all. (IF a 3-month plan is what you want!)

yep. on it.
3 month seems to be the play for now. might look at 6 month plan come Fall.
Not seeing any 4-9 months much less than 10.
Do you think any of those will go lower between now and Fall?
years ago, my first "switch" was to Pennywise Power and was getting 1.7 kWh on top of Oncor. What a time!! especially in a 2 story home drawing 5000 kWh a month in the summer months.

As the weather gets warmer, short-term plans (<12 months) will go much higher or disappear quickly.
With 5000 kWh/mon, you could try a 3-month plan first, then followed by month-to-month. It’s a gamble only you can decide for yourself. If I knew how, I would do it myself. : )

Wow! ONCOR gave a nice increase to wrap up the summer. Also, can't REPLY on that particular thread. Is that by design?

Welp! My 7.3 rate is up this week. i have a decision to make. 3 month at 12.9; ($49 cancelation fee) or 6 month at 13.7 ($99) or 12 month for 13.3. ($150) using roughly 2000 kWh average per month Sept-March.

From experience, too many comments will make data hard to see. That’s why there’s THIS thread, for comments, that we can talk about anything related to Texas electricity.

RHYTHM's 9 MONTH RATE has fallen to 12.2 this week from 13.3. Penalty: $10 per remaining month... BUT.....
ALL companies give you a THREE DAY cancellation with out penalty. RHYTHM offers this for first THIRTY DAYS with no penalty. I can switch to another provider or stay with them and they'll lower my rate to 12.2 without penalty. That's pretty good. However, 6 month rates and 3 month rates have dropped this week, too. Gonna give this a good look this weekend. Keep you posted..

Beware of Just Energy
Three weeks ago, I signed up for a renewal plan from them at 11.9 cents per kilowatt. I called the 800 number and the rep took me through the application intake process. The application was approved and confirmed at 11.9 cents.
The day after the cutover I logged into my account and saw where I was put on a variable rate month by month plan. I immediately called and they said from the phone recordings it was a mistake on their end and you will be put back on the 11.9 cents plan. Ten days later and I am still on the variable rate plan. I called in again and the second rep told me that a complaint was originally opened but nothing has been resolved yet. In the meantime, I’m paying 23 cents per kilowatt hour. This feels like a “bait and switch” and really hurts.

Thanks to jonathan’s reported thread that needs to be dealt with. I’ll be traveling overseas throughout Dec 2023 and Jan 2024. I’ll check back and update, but my responses may be delayed.
